Light Rail Service Suspension Dec 13 & 14 (Commencement Weekend)
The CATS Lynx Blue Line will be out of service on Saturday, Dec. 13, and Sunday, Dec. 14 for semi-annual maintenance.
To minimize disruptions, the shutdown will occur in phases. The entire length of the Gold Line and the South Blue Line shutdown, from 7th Street to I-485, is scheduled to begin at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.
The North Blue Line shutdown, from 7th Street to UNC Charlotte Main Station, is scheduled to begin at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13. Please note the last train leaving each respective station will occur between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. View train departure times on the CATS Pass App.
During this period, bus bridges will replace rail service. Information boards at stations will direct riders to bus bridge stops, which will be marked with Connector signs. Buses will also display “Bus Bridge” for easy identification.
The Blue Line and Gold Line will reopen for regularly scheduled service Monday, Dec. 15.
Commencement
Since service will be suspended during Commencement on Saturday, December 13, we strongly encourage graduates and visitors to explore alternative travel options or allow extra travel time to navigate bus bridges.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) performs essential maintenance to ensure safe and reliable service.
