Dec. 2025 Commencement Parking and Transportation
To accommodate expected parking demand for December Commencement, the following changes to parking and transit operations will occur Friday, Dec. 12, and Saturday, Dec. 13.
Friday Commencement
On Dec. 12, Craver Road will close at 8 a.m. and reopen around 6 p.m.
Parking
The following decks/lots will close to prepare for Commencement parking on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 11 p.m.
- West Deck
- Union Deck
- Cone Decks 1 and 2
- SAC ADA Lot/ SAC North
- Lots 7/7A
Parking at East Deck, South Village Deck or North Deck is recommended if you are not attending Commencement.
Transportation
A shuttle will run between the UNC Charlotte Marriott Hotel and Craver Road. Transportation will also be provided from the UNC Charlotte Main light rail station.
Niner Transit will operate two Silver and two Green buses. Paratransit will operate an on-demand service
Saturday Commencement
On Dec. 13, Craver Road will close at 8 a.m. and reopen at 2 p.m.
Parking
Parking will be reserved for Commencement attendees only in the following lots/decks:
- West Deck
- Cone Deck
- Union Deck
- SAC ADA Lot/ SAC North
- Lot 7/7A
Transportation
A shuttle will run between the UNC Charlotte Marriott Hotel and Craver Road. Transportation will also be provided from the UNC Charlotte Main light rail station.

Light Rail Outage: the CATS Lynx Blue Line will be out of service for scheduled maintenance on Saturday, Dec. 13. but bus bridges along light rail stations will be available as an alternative. Commencement attendees using light rail should plan to allow extra travel time.
