Winter Weather Service Changes

Categories: Parking, Transportation Tags: alert

Winter weather is headed to Charlotte this weekend! Here’s what changes to expect in PaTS operations:

Parking

If the University moves to C2 operating conditions this weekend, parking enforcement will be relaxed. Any valid permit can park in any unrestricted space, including South Village Deck visitor spaces. Parking deck gates will remain open.

Students, faculty and staff who will have vehicles parked on campus over the weekend are encouraged to park in the lower, covered levels of parking decks instead of in lots.

Since snow and ice are expected, parking deck roofs will be closed Saturday, Jan. 24, through Monday, Jan. 26.

Niner Transit

Niner Transit will operate from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24 through Monday, Jan. 26, conditions permitting. Niner Transit may reduce or cancel service if roads become too hazardous.

Check PassioGO! for the latest transit routes and hours of operation.

Light Rail

CATS is monitoring the potential for winter weather this weekend. Normal operations will continue as long as conditions allow.

For the most updated information, download the CATS-Pass app, where you will find a “Winter Weather Updates & Detours” section, or visit the CATS website for service alerts.

Lime Scooters and Bikes

For the safety of users, Lime devices on campus will be inactive or unavailable for service during severe weather conditions.
