Kick off your pre-game excitement with fun, friends and free tailgating options!
Tailgating Information
Tailgating areas open three hours prior to kick-off for weekday games and eight hours prior to kick-off for weekend games. Spaces are free, but limited — request early and get in on the fun!
The 49th Acre is the designated student tailgating area. Students can request space for free.
When tailgating permits sell out, a limited number of permits are available to park in the CRI Deck and access tailgates in the 49th Acre.
Tailgating without a Vehicle
Picnic tailgating is permitted in West Quad (between Cone Center and SAC) and Star Quad (between Atkins Library and CHHS). Charcoal grilling is permitted.
A limited number of student parking permits are available for parking in Cone Deck, West Deck and Union Deck to accommodate picnic tailgaters.
Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, hoverboards, e-scooters, etc. are prohibited within designated tailgating areas.
No Motorized carts
The use of golf carts, mopeds, scooters, e-scooters, ATVs, go-carts, and other similar motorized vehicles is prohibited.
Parking
There is a limited number of game-day parking permits to accommodate tailgaters — the CRI Deck is the closest parking area to the 49th Acre. Cone Deck, West Deck and Union Deck permits are available for picnic tailgaters.
CRI Deck is the closest deck to the 49th Acre available to students.
Non-tailgating students may purchase a normal game-day permit through Charlotte 49ers Athletics or pay to park in Cone Deck (credit/debit only).
Commuter permit holders may park only in South Village Deck, North Deck and East Decks 2 and 3.
Students with Resident permits may park in areas designated for their permit type, except for areas reserved for football parking, including the CRI Deck and Lot 25.
Those without a valid UNC Charlotte parking permit are required to park in the East 1 Visitor Deck and pay the associated visitor fee.
Campus residents parked in Lot 25 must move their vehicles by 5 a.m. on a home game or risk being towed to Lot 6.
Get to the stadium with ease, wherever you are on campus. The Football Shuttle has two separate routes to make sure no Niner gets left behind.
The shuttle begins service two hours before kick-off and ends one hour after the game ends.
All Niner Transit routes suspend regular service and change to Football Shuttle routes two hours before kick-off. The shuttles appear as brown icons on the Passio GO! app.
