This weekend is bringing warm weather and a 0% chance of boredom with these and more events in Charlotte – all accessible via the light rail!

Celebrate the city’s culture at Charlotte SHOUT

  • When: Friday, Apr. 4 to Sunday, Apr. 20
  • Where: Uptown Charlotte
  • Cost: Free (individual events may have additional costs)

Charlotte SHOUT is an annual celebration of our city’s culture through the lens of art, music, food and ideas. More than 200 events and installations will happen in Uptown Charlotte starting this weekend, April 4 until April 20.

There’s so much to explore at this festival! There are free, open-to-the-public attractions like Buskers on the Green or ArtCade Night. Some events require tickets to participate, like Date Night Puddle Painting on Friday, Apr. 4 or a free Dance Fit Class with Charlotte Ballet Academy on Sunday, Apr. 6.

Get tickets to one of the experiences or just enjoy the vibes, but don’t miss out on this cultural experience!

Directions: From UNC Charlotte Main Station, take the Blue Line southbound and get off at 3rd St./Convention Center Station. Walk about 0.2 miles to 200 S College St.

Laugh for a cause with Improv Charlotte

  • When: 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday, Apr. 4
  • Where: Free Range Brewing
  • Cost: $13.42

Improv Charlotte will be serving up laughs at Free Range Brewing on Friday. The group prides themselves on giving proceeds from shows to local nonprofits. This performance will benefit RyzAb0ve, a nonprofit dedicated to inclusive health and fitness for individuals with disabilities.

Directions: From UNC Charlotte Main Station, take the Blue Line southbound and get off at 25th St. Station. Walk about 0.5 miles to 2320 N Davidson St.

  • Where: Hi-Wire Brewing
  • Cost: $25

Cirque du Biere’s aerialist performers will take the stage at Hi-Wire Brewing for a pop-princess-themed night of fun. Enjoy choreographed routines in the first half, then you choose the songs while the acrobatic dancers improvise routines to your favorite female pop star anthems.
