Permit Refund Policies
2025-2026 Refunds
2025-26 annual permit refunds are not issued after Friday, March 27, 2026.
Faculty and Staff
- Staff or faculty who purchased a permit via credit card or check in one transaction may request a refund online at any time but no refunds are issued after Friday, March 27. Under most circumstances, a refund will be granted.
- Refunds for permits purchased online will be issued to the card used for purchase.
- If a refund cannot be credited back to the original card, a check request will be sent to Disbursement Services for direct deposit or a paper check to be issued and mailed to your address on file.
- Faculty and staff who pay for a permit by payroll deduction should request a refund online to cancel a permit. PaTS will notify the payroll office. Please allow up to two pay periods before the deduction stops.
- Unpaid citation fines are deducted from refunds.
Students
- Refunds for permits purchased online with a credit card will be issued to the card used for purchase.
- If a refund cannot be credited back to the original card, your student account will be credited for the refund amount and deposited directly to your bank account (if direct deposit is set up), or a paper check will be issued and mailed to your address on file.
- Unfortunately, completed credit card on file (CCOF) payments do not qualify for refunds. Your permit will be deactivated as soon as you cancel your plan. If you have any further questions, please call the PaTS Communication Center at (704) 687-0161.
- Unpaid citation fines are deducted from refunds.
Annual permit refund schedule
- Refund amounts reflect the value at the beginning of each month. All annual and semester permits prorate monthly.
- Refund requests for 2025-2026 annual permits are not processed after Friday, March 27, 2026.
- Permits purchased via payroll deduction or credit card-on-file payments do not follow these refund schedules. Please contact PaTS for details specific to your permit and payment method.
