Parking and Transportation for Friday’s Football Game

Categories:

The Charlotte 49ers will face the Tulane Green Wave on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m.

Here is what you need to know to navigate campus:

Campus Parking and Traffic

The campus will experience high traffic, restricted parking and restrained movement from noon until 11 p.m. Allow extra time to exit or enter campus during these hours.

There will be parking and traffic changes in place during the game, including the following:

Classes and staff schedules

Faculty are required to make alternate arrangements for all classes starting at 2:30 p.m. or later. Please refer to the UNC Charlotte Schedule Interruption Guidelines.

Because of expected congestion, employees not attending Friday’s football game are encouraged to exit campus by 4 p.m.

The University, however, will be open and appropriate staffing levels are required to provide access to resources during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Departments with second- and third-shift operations should likewise anticipate staffing needs for that evening.

Supervisors are encouraged to allow staff to use leave time, compensatory time and/or alternate arrangements to weekly work schedules to make up for any lost hours from exiting campus early.

Paratransit

Niner Paratransit will support ADA transportation needs for game attendees beginning at 5 p.m. from Snyder Deck to Gate 1 of Jerry Richardson Stadium.

Visitor parking

Visitors not attending the game may park in East Deck 1 and pay the visitor fee of $5 for the first hour and $2 for each additional hour; $15 maximum. Day-of-game parking is available for $30, credit/debit, at the Cone Deck. Football permits may be purchased through Charlotte 49ers Athletics.

Getting to the Game

Don’t want to pay for parking? Consider taking the LYNX light rail to the game. Direct bus service to the Football Stadium is available from the UNC Charlotte Main Station. Students who have paid the Miscellaneous Transportation Service Charge may ride light rail and all other CATS vehicles fare-free with their CATS Pass-App. Faculty and staff may purchase a CATS All-Access Transit Pass at a reduced rate.
